Grade All Stars - G.R.A.D.E

On 11th February 2015 London-based producer G.R.A.D.E released GRADE All Stars, featuring an array of artists G.R.A.D.E has worked with over the years, All Stars line-up includes Big J, Funkineven, Ad1, Bress Frame, MC Johnny Wae, Zero, SB Live, Bow Man and myself, Oscar CharliEE. 

 I remember 9th Wonder once said (and I'm paraphrasing this):" It's not what you use to produce a track, it's how you use it.", and that ethos resonated with G.R.A.D.E. For me, he was the first person I knew who actually used a PlayStation for more than just playing games, he was looping and chopping samples on it.
PS1 was decades ago and I know G.R.A.D.E had moved on to a more conventional setup and this is what you get when you listen to this All Stars album, a varied of sonic soundscapes. From the hard-hitting tracks like "Vtec" and "Bangshot", to the mellow "Offbeats", to the in-your-face "Inbreed", to the creeper "The Return", the final track "Let It Go" is a fitting way to end the project.

 I know you will hear more from him, as I have at least three projects I worked: "The Unwritten Story of Tao (The truth in a lie)", "Yesterday's Light" and "Grade and Oscar CharliEE are Shining Light".  

 But back to All Stars definitely something for a Hip Hop procurer, with such a wide variety of lyrical styles and content to complement G.R.A.D.E's productions.

Hip Hop Sequels - Brenda and her baby - Tupac and Median

Many heads will remember the classic released in 1991, "Brenda's Got A Baby" which highlighted the social ills and challenges adolescents faced with teenage pregnancies.  However, only a select few may have known 16 years later Median, an emcee from the Justus League team (Little Brother, Chaundon, Joe Scudda and others), continued the storyline about Brenda's baby. Wellspring of LIFE - Proverb 16:22

"Understanding is a wellspring of life for he that has it, but foolishness is the instruction of fools." ~ Proverb 16:22 Apply what you understand to be right to your day, you know what that is, listen to the voice which gives you wisdom from the knowledge you have stored up all the days of your life because it is better than being instructed by foolishness like those fools who think folly is the good teacher. Think of the wise men who went to visit Mary and the child king. Herod's instruction was foolish, "...come back and report to me so I can go and worship this saviour also." Knowing very well he had no intention to submit goodwill towards Jesus, the wise men full of a wellspring of life understood this blatant fallacy and left a different route after going to give offerings to Jesus. Fill up your wellspring today. When someone offers you foolish counsel, challenge it with your understanding and you will not go astray.
